Job Summary
AECOM has a new job vacancy for a Chartered Facade Engineer a to be based in
London- Aldgate. You will work as part of our team to produce designs and
calculations for high profile and interesting international facade projects.
We are a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy so as well as taking on
the role of an engineer you will also act as a consultant with some project
management and client facing responsibilities.
This role is ideal for someone who can manage their own projects- line manage
engineers and have a hand in project delivery and business development. You
will be looking to push yourself and develop in an engineering specialty whic

About Our Team

Although AECOM is a large entity we are still a small and agile team. We work
on projects together and gain a wide variety of experience which keeps our
days varied and full of interesting challenges and successes.

We are looking to expand because of our success we have a full order book and
need to grow to meet the demand. You will be joining an established team of
around 15 engineers all based in our modern and stylish Aldgate tower office.
Although there is a lot of work to do we recognise the importance of a good

Job Responsibilities

We offer design and calculation consultation as well as specialist design
review and third-party assessments for large organisations and public
entities. You will be involved in producing these outcomes with the support of
the team. As you develop in the team you will take on more responsibility
which will be rewarded with a planned development schedule.

With support from our Directors you will take responsibility for all design-
documentation- administration and compliance with project constraints
undertaken for facades- structures and BMU systems- the below gives an outline
of your day to day responsibilities.

Provide facade engineer design and build-ability consultancy- including material knowledge and installation techniques.

Provide detailed engineering computations and analysis as required for report submissions.

Coordinate with client consultants such as architect- structural- sustainability- and acoustic engineers to determine best facade design outcomes.

Provide design sketches and reports as required for schematic- design development and constructions phases of projects.

Act as project leader you will be involved in and organise- site meetings- design workshops and site inspection as required and/or as project planning stipulates.

Assist with preparation and coordination of expressions of interest- tender submissions and similar consulting proposals.

Liaise with other staff- project teams- associated consultants and clients and assist in building and maintaining relationships with all of these.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant civil or structural degree or professional qualification and you will be professionally recognised- which means chartered.

You will have experience of line management- project finances and business development and tendered procedures.

Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.

Proven experience within the facade engineering industry or a demonstratable interested in starting a specialisation in facades.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideally good freehand sketching ability for use in technical facade detailing.

Knowledge of relevant structural software- e.g. Strand 7- Spacegass- Therm- Autocad- Revit.

A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning.

Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate.
