Job Summary
Our UK Environment team is looking to recruit an ESIA consultant. We are
looking for an individual with experience in working on ESIAs on major
infrastructure projects such as oil and gas- power- renewables- ports- or
airports with major global clients. The individual will be part of a 300+
national team and report to a Principal or Associate ESIA consultant.
The successful candidate will have a track-record of successful project
delivery- with good technical skills and past experience in managing baseline
studies and technical assessments completed by sub-contractors- and assisting
in the production of ESIA reports and Non-Technical Summaries

Our ESIA team comprises 30-40 people within a wider EIA/ESIA team tha

consists of 300+ staff. The team delivers ESIAs/ESHIAs- social impac

assessments- and environmental and social due diligence for major
international projects- predominantly in the oil and gas- power- renewables-
and infrastructure sectors. Our clients comprise the major global developers
and lenders/banks.

We have an impressive portfolio of major national and international
infrastructure projects. A selection of our current and recent projects

The Tilenga ESIA which is the development of over 40 onshore oil wells in Uganda for Total.

An offshore drilling ESIA for Tullow Oil in Suriname.

Various seismic survey ESIAs- onshore and offshore for international O&G companies.

A solar PV project in eastern Europe for an international O&G company.

Environmental and social due diligence on behalf of a major lender for a wind farm in Africa.

An ESIA for a major port development in Gabon.

Job Responsibilities:

The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job
/ Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary

Assist in the management of and support in the delivery of ESIA projects to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard

Understand and implement project management principles and fully appreciate the need to work within project budgets

Assist in the project management and preparation of project documents including Scoping Reports and related technical studies in accordance with project timescales

Assist in the production of ESIA reports- and Non-Technical Summaries

Analyse data effectively and carry out desk based studies when required

Assist with the planning and execution of baseline surveys

Assist with the definition of scopes of work for technical studies and review of the completed studies

Participate in team meetings and other meetings as and when required

Prioritise project actions and meet commitments on an on-going basis while taking ownership and responsibility for the quality and completion of work

Assist in the production of ESIA Work Plans- Survey Execution Plans and other Project Management documents as required

Keep up to date with relevant environmental legislation- policy and guidance

Research issues as part of the ESIA process and to provide ideas- solutions and expertise to the ESIA team

Support business development through assistance with the production of Expressions of Interest and tenders- and to continuously improve our service offering for our clients

Understand and comply with quality and health & safety requirements and ensure these are addressed throughout a project

Minimum Requirements

You will have experience in ESIA/ESHIA for international projects- preferably in the oil & gas and power sectors. This should include Scoping / Terms of Reference- ESIA- and Non-technical Summaries.

Some knowledge of the IFC standards and Equator Principles- and an ability to demonstrate some application of these standards to previous projects.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

You will have a good first degree and a second degree in an appropriate environmental- scientific or engineering discipline.
