Job Summary
AECOM includes one of the largest- most diverse and innovative landscape
practices in the world. Following several major project wins we are seeking
and experienced Chartered Consultant Landscape Architect for the Basingstoke
or the Cambridge office.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to
deliver projects from initial planning through completion and into long-term
management. The successful candidates will join a large national team of
landscape architects committed to developing solutions to complex problems-
delivering high quality work through close internal collaboration and externa

partnerships. You will be offered support to expand your experience an

consider applicants with a wide range of experience but a proven track recor

in landscape planning- including LVIA- is desirable.

We operate from modern- well connected offices with the opportunity to work
alongside other professions and contribute to shared project objectives. Our
clients include the London Legacy Development Corporation- Highways England-
HS2- the Environment Agency and private clients such as Jaguar Land Rover- St.
George plc- Exxon Mobil and Thames Water.

Our current portfolio of work includes a diverse mix of project from local
planning and design schemes through to major infrastructure schemes-
including:

LVIA and TVIA for a wide range of developments- including major regeneration
schemes within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and urban extensions- such as
the Welborne Garden Village in Hampshire.

Major infrastructure LVIA and landscape design for HS2 Phase 2b (Birmingham
to Chesterfield) and road schemes including A303 Stonehenge bypass- A428 (part
of the Oxford to Cambridge Expressway)- M54/M6 and M42 J6 (Birmingham Airport)
and numerous Environment Agency flood alleviation schemes.

Higher education detailed design and implementation of public realm as part
of major campus transformation schemes- such as the University of Salford.

Local authority plan making SHLAA housing assessments and plan allocations-
including providing evidence to EIP and Public Inquiries.

Neighbourhood planning heritage and character assessment for over 40 areas
across the UK- urban design studies and creation of new spaces and
connectivity within towns.

Public realm strategies and masterplans Including Leicester- Oakham and
Paisley town centre as part of the latter`s bid for City of Culture 2021.

Public parks legacy of historic park restoration schemes- including
Alexandra Park- Manchester and Crystal Palace Park- London.

Landscape management long term management for numerous flood alleviation
schemes across the UK- including the flagship Jubilee River.

Minimum Requirements

Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute;

BA or BSc (Hons) in a landscape architecture related discipline;

Technically competent in preparing landscape and/or townscape and visual impact assessments and appraisals and evidence base documents to support development plans and policies in accordance with best practice;

Thorough knowledge and understanding of the UK legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture;

Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively;

Experience of managing projects- including financial control and reporting and programme management;

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications;

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the landscape profession and be fully conversant with AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software;

Experience of some or all of the following is also highly desirable: ArcGIS- AutoCAD Civils 3D- Revit- LSS or ProjectWise

Preferred Qualifications

MA or MSc in Landscape Architecture (desirable but not essential).
