JOB SUMMARY

• In line with Hotel policies and procedures| provide a pro-active and re-
active painting and decorating service to the entire hotel under the guidance
of the Director of Engineering and of the Assistant Chief Engineer.
• To maintain the decorative order and appearance of guest bedrooms| corridors
restaurant| bar and all other public areas to the highest standards.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:
• Previous experience working within a Technical Services environment
preferred
Skills and Knowledge
• Strong Communication skills (verbal| listening| writing)
• Innovative
• Pro-active and reliable
• Able to work alone and within a team
Education or Certification
• Good level of English essential

SPECIFIC DUTIES

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the
successful performance of the position:
• Carry out Planned Preventative decorating activities in accordance with the
company and departmental standards to all areas of the hotel. This will
include guest bedrooms| public areas| and all back of house areas.
• To carry out regular floor walks to inspect all wall coverings and paintwork
to guest corridors and public areas including “back of house”.
• To carry out regular inspections of guest bedrooms for damaged/dirty
paintwork and wall coverings| which will form part of a structured planned
maintenance regime.
• Protect the assets of the hotel and company to include any items of uniform
and company tools issued.
• Be conversant with all maintenance department policies and procedures.
• Participate within the engineering shift rota pattern as and when required.
• Participate within the operation of the emergency attendance call-out
facility if required.
• Comply with all current relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as requested from time to time.
• Perform all duties professionally| promptly| and efficiently.
• Provide a personal hand tool kit with relevant tools needed for your job.
• Ensure that any potential hazards and real hazards are reported immediately
and rectified.
• Be fully aware and conversant with all departmental fire| emergency and BOMB
procedures.
• Serve as an active member of the hotel fire team.
• Always follow the correct safety procedures to carry out any job that may be
deemed to be hazardous in a safe manner.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that any equipment issued for personal
protective use is kept in good condition and regularly inspected for defects
prior to each use.
• Maintain appropriate standards of conduct| dress/uniforms| and hygiene.
• Communicate with all departmental managers and staff alike.
• Maintain a positive attitude to work duties and colleagues at all times.
• Maintain a flexible approach and attitude to work and work hours.
• Participate in any relevant training courses offered.
• Assist fellow employees at times when assistance is required.
• Always strive to improve “job” knowledge.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by performing such duties as attending to their
requests and inquiries courteously and efficiently| and accepting changes or
additions in work hours that are necessary for the maintenance of
uninterrupted service to hotel guests and patrons.
