This role is the first UX role to be hired for Boomi in the UK. We`re looking
for a highly-experienced- T-shaped generalist to join our growing UX practice.
If you are a research-driven Interaction Designer with strong verbal and
visual communication skills- attention to detail- and a team-oriented
spirit—let`s talk. You`ll be an influence on our organization and the user
experience of our platform- specifically responsible for leading the design
and usability for Boomi Flow. Boomi Flow is the area of our platform that
enables low code development for workflow automation- app development- and
customer journeys.

This role is based in the UK- and reports to the Director of User Experience
(US).

Key Responsibilities

Understanding complex technological concepts and communicating them in simplified- visual form
Collaborating and communicating across teams and roles
Designing with consistency- and an attention to detail
Exhibiting broad knowledge of qualitative research methods and how/when to apply them
Contributing to our Design System and UI guidelines- and their maintenance- including ownership of stewarding and communicating updates to product teams
Designing inclusively- with a demonstrated understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1)
Contributing meaningfully to building and influencing our emerging UX practice
Thinking both conceptually and pragmatically about product strategy to ensure that Boomi remains an industry leader
Setting clear expectations and guidance to the designers supporting your efforts
The ability to effectively manage |up|

Essential Requirements

An open mind- and an insatiable curiosity
A solid history of leading design efforts for product development- or complex business systems and applications
Experience leading others on projects- and taking responsibility for outcomes
Strong empathy for our customers- and the ability to discover and define their business needs
Exceptional verbal and visual communication skills
The desire and ability to mentor others
Deep expertise as an information architect
Flexibility and adaptability: you must be comfortable working with |just enough| data to make informed decisions and operate within an agile environment
Experience educating non-designers on the value of UX—and the patience and perseverance to do so
A considered- clearly articulated design philosophy
Familiarity with rapid prototyping tools (e.g.- InVision- Sketch- Adobe XD)- and Creative Cloud
Ability to create sketches and wireframes to communicate workflows and features to others
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize
Occasional travel spanning 1-2 weeks- including international travel (<20% travel) The desire to collaborate- with the ability to operate independently A willingness to provide and accept constructive criticism Work samples and/or case studies that show us how you work through the process- and the outcome of those efforts Desirable Requirements Working familiarity with HTML and CSS A |niche| area of strength- e.g.- technical abilities- conceptual design- visual design- design systems- content strategy- etc. Involvement in the UX community Boomi|s UK offices are located in Exeter and London.
