Job Summary
AECOM is looking for arboricultural consultants and senior arboricultural
consultants to join our growing arboriculture team. These roles will be based
in our modern- flexible offices across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly international team of
arboriculturists and foresters who work on a wide range of projects from small
individual tree assessments to large scale infrastructure projects in the UK
and abroad.
Our work covers all aspects of tree management and is typically focused on
tree condition assessment and trees in relation to development. These role

offer the opportunity to work on high profile and often challenging project

with the support of the wider arboricultural team and a wide range of interna

expertise in other disciplines.

We provide the full range of typical arboricultural consultancy services to a
wide range of clients including The National Trust- Eton College- Transport
for London- Environment Agency and many local authorities.

The team is involved in a varied range of major national and international
projects including:

Chelsea Football Club Stamford Bridge Stadium redevelopment

Regeneration of Crystal Palace Park.

Transport for London –Tree Condition Surveys.

Luxulyan Valley World Heritage Site restoration scheme- Cornwall.

Thames Tideway Tunnel- London.

A wide range of Heritage Lottery funded Parks for People projects including Headstone Manor- and Levengrove Park.

Job Responsibilities:

The role will require the following:

Undertake tree surveys for both planning purposes and to assess tree condition.

Prepare arboricultural reports to BS 5837:2012- Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA)- Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS)- tree condition reports and risk assessments.

Provide guidance on arboricultural issues and communicate technical concepts and principles to both clients and professional colleagues.

Working independently- or with other arboricultural and landscape professionals- in the planning- delivery and management of arboricultural services.

Work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team- contributing to bids and the development of new innovative ideas.

Minimum Requirements

A sound level of arboricultural knowledge- including BS5837:2012 BS8545:2014 and BS3998:2010- be competent in tree identification- inspection- condition assessment and necessary management options.

Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture (or equivalent QCF Level 4 qualification).

Knowledge of relevant UK legislation- best practice and policy relating to arboricultural matters.

Professional- organised and thorough approach to work which demonstrates an attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written- in particular- the ability to write concise technical reports.

IT skills should include Microsoft Office with the use of AutoCAD and GIS being an advantage within this role.

A full driving licence will be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Lantra Professional Tree Inspection qualification

Evidence of recent active training and CPD within the arboricultural industry

QCF Level 5 or higher arboricultural qualification.
