POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Area Director of Revenue Management (Sr ADRM)| Luxury reports
directly to the VP Revenue Management| Europe with dotted lines to Area/Market
Vice Presidents| Luxury for Europe and Area Vice President for Southern
Europe. The Sr ADRM has the responsibility for the revenue performance of the
entire Luxury portfolio for Europe (currently representing 26% of continent
rooms revenue) along with the performance of the Southern Europe portfolio
(luxury and non-luxury hotels).
The position partners with VPRM and Senior Director of SMR Analytics to
identify revenue opportunities for the Luxury hotels and provides
recommendations on cluster and hotel pricing strategies across transient|
group and catering segments that drive profitable revenue and market share.
The role will collaborate with the Corporate VP of Revenue Strategy to
represent Europe’s Luxury portfolio needs and lead the pull-through of Luxury
standards| practices| and pricing strategies.
The Senior ADRM provides day-to-day revenue management support to individual
market and hotel revenue leaders. Works closely with the General Managers and
hotel teams to ensure proper strategies are in place to optimize total hotel
revenues with a focus on pricing| mix management| premium rooms and inventory
management strategies.
SCOPE
The Area Director of Revenue Management| Luxury supports The Ritz-Carlton|
EDITION| Bvlgari| JW Marriott| W| St Regis| and The Luxury Collection brands
across Europe as well as non-luxury hotels in the Southern Europe Area.
Location requirements: Location is flexible with preference for one of the continent offices in London| England or Eschborn| Germany.
Language Requirements: High proficiency (speaking| reading and writing) in English is required.
Travel Requirements: Business travel is estimated at 60-70%.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Revenue Management Leadership
Acts as lead revenue management stakeholder for owners/asset managers for Southern Europe hotels.
Collaborates with senior leaders to assess and adjust revenue strategies for the luxury brands.
Works with Senior Director SMR Analytics to identify opportunities for improvement in revenue and market share performance. Develops targeted action plans to drive change and improvement.
Provides leadership to the ADRM Luxury and partners with both area teams to drive best practices.
Leads property evaluations to help property teams identify trends and opportunities to maximize revenue for transient| group| and catering segments.
Provides oversight and guidance of the Special Corporate pricing process.
Supports hotel leaders in the development of RevPAR budgets and business plans.
Critiques performance and provides insights and trends for brand| area| and continent leadership.
Uses available resources (audits| scorecards| reporting) to ensure proper pricing and inventory management practices are in place.
Acts as a liaison to ensure new corporate| brand and continent initiatives| procedures| tools| and systems enhancements are communicated and executed at the property level.
Participates in property Area Team visits and Area and Continent leadership meetings as appropriate.
Understands and communicates the value of Marriott International and Marriott’s brands as they relate to owners and franchise partnerships.
Supports new hotel openings and conversions through assisting GM with hiring of revenue management leader| on-boarding| and developing initial hotel pricing strategy.
Supports the development of hotel’s goals in forecast accuracy| RevPAR index| premium paid occupancy| and other key metrics as established by the area or continent team.
Ensures that revenue leaders understand and actively support pricing strategies appropriate for each brand.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office Policies and Procedures.
Financial and Accounting Management
Participates in the preparation of the total rooms and catering budgets.
Provides data to the hotels for the purpose of analyzing and evaluating specific business segments and accounts.
Assists with creation of pre-opening budgets.
Talent Management
Leads the area or property training efforts as they relate to systems and tools affecting the transient| group| and catering revenue management processes.
Assists property General Managers in recruiting| evaluating| and developing revenue management talent.
Supports the General Managers or Sales leaders in the LPP process for Revenue leaders.
CANDIDATE PROFILE – KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
REQUIRED:
Strong leadership skills.
Able to set strategies and create and implement recommendations for translating strategy into tactics.
Strong verbal| writing| listening| and presentation skills.
Strong working knowledge of pricing| yield management systems and processes for multiple brands and segments.
Strong analytical skills.
Able to assess and analyze financial reports.
Strong understanding of Sales & Marketing functions.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
5 or more years working experience in related field| Revenue Management experience preferred| Finance or Sales & Marketing also helpful
Strong foundation in Starwood legacy brands preferred
Good comprehension of MARSHA| Opera| revenue management systems| tools| principles and processes preferred.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:
University degree preferred
